5.2.8 materials and resources

5.2.8 Materials and resources

Student Book

pp 152–61

It is important to consider the materials and resources you have available to make your campaign materials. You must also make sure that any people who are meant to be involved will be available when the campaign is taking place. You could use this table to consider where materials and resources can be found.

Materials and equipment required

Where they can be found or do I need to buy them?

Lighting

The lighting will already be provided in the David Sharp Theater, it will be all set up already, and this will cost nothing as the school is providing it.

Music

Renee and Mr Macintosh worked together and downloaded the music for our performance and put them on a disk, this didn’t cost any money as it was a free download.

Props

The props were the table and chairs, we have loads of these in school so they provided us with it, this was also no cost.

Costume

All of us will have our own costumes, some little bits like the school ties are borrowed from the Drama block, this doesn’t cost any money.

5.2.6 Choosing the medium

Student Book

pp 152–61

You will need to consider the medium you will be using for your campaign. You should think about the medium or combination of media you will be using.

Name of campaign: She’s Abused

Medium

How I would use this medium – on its own or in combination?

Talking to the audience

Just before the end of the performance I will be talking to the audience asking them questions about what they have seen, what are the characters problems, and how can they be resolved, this will engage the audience and make them feel involved.

Performing

Throughout the performance up until I talk to the audience, our group will be taking different roles of the performance, we are speeding the message of abused girls to the audience by acting different scenes.

5.2.7 Target audience

She’s Abused

  • Different teenage girls getting different types of abuse of people.

  • The target audience will be teenage girls.

  • The play is basically based on how abuse effects different girls

  • There will be questions asked to the audience just before the show ends

  • It is a sensitive issue so we have to be quite aware of how we present the production.
